for the most part, i really like nijisanji talents (other talents i like include holo and 774/animare). i had watched kizuna ai and pinky pop hepburn around 2018, but stopped after a couple of their videos. about 2 years later (april 18th 2020, specifically) nijisanji's haru kaida appeared on my timeline with his acoustic version of 315pro's reason, and the rest is history!

- VΔLZ (haru kaida, kei nagao, and tojiro genzuki)
truthfully i consider them the first vtubers i ever began watching, starting with haru. VΔLZ shine both individually and as a group. all 3 of them in a room can end with both a fire and an incredibly blessed vocal experience (no, really, all their karaoke off-collabs are amazing).
i wish i could swallow 3 dictionaries and absorb every word in the english language so i could attempt to describe how much i adore tojiro. insane vocal and instrumental range and skills. my initial impression of tojiro was "less chaotic than kei, but still more chaotic than haru" of which i was swiftly proven half-wrong after watching more streams where he shows that the closer to are to being a genius, the more unhinged you are. but this off-kilter and braindead part of him he has around his viewers and VΔLZ both contrasts and rounds out the sort of "less unhinged" (for lack of vocabulary) side he usually has around others. his laugh, as of late, really highlights this partcular aspect of him as it has evolved to being this infectious and incredible cacophony of pure noise for which i can only ever be thankful for and blessed to hear. his laugh has a bombastic power, bringing both viewers and people around him to laugh along. i am what they call mad obsessed with it.
moving on to his actual content, really the main part of how tojiro became one of my top faves (the no. 1, actually) is how much he loves vocaloid. he really expresses his passion in his karaoke and piano streams where he talks an impressive range of knowledge be it producers, nnd history, or specific traits of individual compositions. as a person with a vocaloid library that has been limited to "pretty much before 2015" since 2015- tojiro's music content is really easy to engage with as its both incredibly familiar and something im keen to learning the history of. his piano streams are one of my favorites- especially the ones where he goes wild with impromptu music on, it's plain as day to see just how well tuned his compositional skills are.
tl;dr i like tojiro genzuki a normal amount.
- blues (uiha aiba, ars almal, and kai mayuzumi)
i really began liking them as a trio starting from the 2020 minecraft summer festival. this liking quickly reached an incredible level of endearment as i became a genius that finally understood the appeal of mayuyu. if my physical strength and mental skills weren't nerfed to hell i could speak about mayuyu for the same amount of time i spend thinking about him (this is only kind of a joke).
getting to know uiha was and still is a journey especially because i started with her in denial of losing 2 horses during that same summer festival stream. not sure if that was necessarily the correct way of getting to know her, but that was how i started. uiha's mind is truly a black box... and she truly is the strongest in blues for that. i became more fond of her through her minecraft collabs with kei as keiai- the odd younger sister(teacher) and older brother(mentee) dynamic the two have are both adorable and hilarious.
while i still don't know too much about ars outside of her having an incredibly busy schedule all the time, i highly recommend watching her 3d debut only after watching a couple of her clips-- as this 3d debut really highlights her growth as both a vtuber and a person.
- secret society xero (roa yuzuki, melissa kinrenka, and mashiro)
the first archive i ever watched from this unlikely trio was their neverending nightmares playthrough. before this i'd only really known of meri and their music and had watched only a couple of mashiro and roa clips (all on separate occasions)- so i never thought that the three were on friendly terms considering the differences of their content. however, its because the three of them have such strong personalities on their own that their group dynamic is amusing and endearing to behold. i rly love how mashiro's naturally chaotic existence naturally brings out meri's chaotic side thats only shown in their non-sequitor way of thinking sometimes-- and how this, in turn, brings out a more "responsible" roa who counters whatever odd bit meri and mashiro get into.
on a more individual note, i've always appreciated meri's openness in regards to certain parts of their personal life that we, the audience, don't often get to know from other streamers (understandably so, people are not entitled to knowing everything about a single person and each person has their own right to privacy- which is also why we should take personal moments that are shared to us with care and respect). also i am in love with their singing. please, allow yourself for a blessing and listen to melissa kinrenka's original songs and covers.
i personally quite like mashiro's average stream time is 40 minutes because he'll announce all these bizarre and unconnected situations in his daily life all at once and log off. truly an enigma; a creepypasta of a human, as i like to put it. he has a particular way of speaking that he even acknowledges is disgustingly cute and not true to how he speaks in real life at all, but paired with his mannerisms he becomes nothing short of naturally entertaining.
truthfully i do not know a lot about roa other than her father-child dynamic with belmond, her ensta oshi is leo, and she lured ars into the enst pit.
